What to expect before and during your first appointment:
-
The New Patient Form
You will have to book in as a new patient the first time that we see you. We request you fill out our new patient form prior to your first appointment. This provides us with general information about yourself and your current health and is a legal requirement before any treatment can be undertaken. It also includes sections that require your acceptance and signature for your consent to the assessment and treatment and our GDPR policy.
-
Do I need to fill in the New Patient Form?
Yes, it is a legal requirement and contains essential information for your chiropractor.
-
The Initial Consultation
Your chiropractor will take a full case history to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will meet your goals. Followed by a full examination of the problem area covering range of motion, orthopaedic testing, neurological examination and movement screens.
-
Report of Findings
Once the initial consultation has been performed, your Chiropractor will give you a report of findings to discuss your diagnosis, treatment plan, your goals and expectations and options moving forward.
Treatment will only ever take place once you have given us your full informed consent. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the chiropractor will tell you and this may include referral for further investigations.

Frequently asked questions:
-
Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves, especially related to the spine.
Although chiropractors are best known for treating back and neck pain, which they do very well, patients also consult chiropractors regarding a range of other muscle and joint problems.
-
The ‘crack’ or ‘pop’ you may hear when receiving spinal or joint manipulation is simply a small release of air in the joint and is perfectly harmless. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether it clicks or not. Research showed that the click, or absence of it, made no difference to how quickly people got better.
-
The simplest answer to this question is that how much discomfort you feel during your treatments is often related to how much irritation and inflammation is there already. It is common to feel some post treatment soreness up to 48-72 hours post treatment. However, it is rare that the treatment hurts more than the problem that brought you in.
Always remember that you can communicate with your chiropractor, and they will make sure that treatment is carried out within your preferences.
-
The number of treatments largely depends on several factors such as how severe the problem is, how long you’ve had it, your age, your general health, your lifestyle in general and many other things. The great news is that, once you’ve had your thorough examination your chiropractor will be able to outline the treatment you need for your specific goals.

We don’t offer sports massage appointments, but we incorporate it into our treatments alongside other techniques such as dry cupping, soft tissue stretch techniques, joint manipulation and more. We’ll recommend a treatment plan that we think will work best for your area of concern, this can include deep soft tissue massage if you as patient prefers a certain technique.

We are both trained in medical acupuncture and hope to be able to offer it in the future once the local council signs off.
